End Stage Injury Rehab and Return to Sport

Living on the Coffs Coast is great and in our opinion one of the great appeals of it is the access to outstanding sporting facilities and a fantastic climate to play sport all year round. Unfortunately, injuries are always a part of sport and one thing that is often missing during rehab of an injury is the bridge between where physio stops and the return to sport. There is often too big of a step up in intensity from the rehab exercises prescribed by a physio to the intensity required at training and during a game. This leads to an increased risk of re-injury but also developing a new injury as well as lower levels of performance.

At Coffs Coast Exercise Physiology we pride ourselves on being able to provide that bridge between physio-led rehab and return to sport. By combining his education and work experience with his experience as an athlete, Hugh provides a world class end stage rehab service. Hugh has completed a Masters of Exercise Science (Strength and Conditioning) and all three phases of the EXOS Performance Mentorship (EXOS is the largest private S&C facility in the world). He previously worked for 5 years at one of Sydney’s leading physio practices, Central Performance, which had an elite level track team (including a World Championship competitor in the 3000m steeplechase and several national championships finalists) and as the Head of Athletic Performance for Northern Suburbs Rugby Club in the Shute Shield where he worked with Super Rugby and Australian Sevens Olympic representatives. As an athlete he was selected in the Australian Universities cricket team and represented Australia at a World University Games cricket championship in Sri Lanka as well as playing for Warringah in the Shute Shield with and against numerous Super rugby players and Wallabies.

It is this combination of education, experience and first hand sporting knowledge that helps us to provide an exceptional end stage return to sport rehabilitation service.
