Functional Skills Assessments

Involves visiting the client’s home to observe and understand how they are currently participating in everyday activities such as showering, grooming and looking after personal hygiene, dressing, preparing meals, cleaning, home and gardening care, getting around the home and community.

Taking into consideration the person’s medical and social history to identifying needs and support requirements, a Functional Skills Assessment can assist through:

  • Training and education in skills to assist with improving daily living skills.
  • Learn about equipment and services that may assist with your daily activities.
  • Finding ways to improve mobility for increased independence and confidence to enable you to fully participate in your daily routines. 
  • Providing evidence to Funding organisations to advocate for supports as identified during assessment.
